low MAF readings

well i have scanned a couple logs with freescan and i found out that my MAF sensor readings are very low....at WOT i seem to be able to only pull around 170-205...a buddy with a 95Z has told me that even the restrictive stock airbox flows more than that at WOT....he said hes aroung 240+ at WOT...my intake is as restrictless as they come....2 filtercharged K&N;s..SLP CAI to descreened MAF to Trick flow elbow to airfoil.....why is my maf flowing such low numbers and what are my options....

valve float can cause it & so will any leaks before the MAF ie. intake manifold leaks, TB leaks, elbow ripped etc... or bad MAF.

everything is air tight..no leaks...

i have some Gumout Air intake and throttle body cleaner...can i use this to spray down the MAF sensor to clean it? Also can i buy a MAF screen at the dealership? Im almost at the point where im just gonna throw out my SLP CAI and get a AS&M CAI and z06 maf...200 at WOT is ridiculous as a stock box flows 240+...wtf

well cleaning might help but the screen won't, essentially you get smaller readings with the MAF screen from my experience of trying it on & off several times.

Find out if you can borrow a maf from someone.

Matt.

maybe i should just get a Z06 MAF...its 150$ and the entire thing is a direct replacement...the sensor is the same one as i have in there now..

since im flowing 180-200 at WOT isnt that a good thing b/c it would be leaning it out a bit? or is 180-200 at WOT something i should be worried about and is cosing me lots of HP and performance?

i would love it if injuneer (fred) or shoebox could look at my logs

its costing you lots of HP, small differences in the MAF readings make big differences on your A/F readings. Your readings would be way too lean IMO.
