Re: low dyno numbers..

Maybe the dyno isnt accurate, that engine should make 450 crank easy. At least 380rw man. Something isn't right.

I see those injectors being (10ohms), aren't our injectors in the 14ohm range? maybe that is still in the acceptable range.

Re: low dyno numbers..

That caught my eye too.... seems too low.

The factory shop manual sheet for DTC 18 (Injector Circuits) indicates that any injector that measures less than 11.6 ohms is "faulty". But is also implies that the low resistance will blow the fuse. When the PCM detects a faulty injector (voltage out of range), it disables it. But it should set DTC 18. Note however - DTC 18 does NOT turn on the SES light.

Never blew a fuse...if it disabled it..wouldn't it go lean on that side?

In tunercats...is DTC 18 listed as 'injector Intermitten fault, error 18'? If so..I just looked and that one is turned off for some reason.

Re: low dyno numbers..

How much would the valves being too tight affect things? Rechecking things and think they where too tight.. I readjusted the drivers side first...backing them off 1/2 turn. Fired it up and they seemed fine...no clacking. I'll get the other side tommorrow..

Re: low dyno numbers..

Small update...

I did back off all the rockers 1/2 turn..still sounds good (no excessive noise).
Went out and hammered it..butt dyno says it pulled harder up top. The datalog says I was way maxed out on injectors ( 101%duty cycle). I ordered the Trickflow 36lbs...I was running the 30's from them. Fired it up and so far,so good. Haven't drove it yet..will tomorrow on my off day. Still considering going with some different headers..maybe the texas speed ones..they bolt up to Pacesetter ypipes.

Looks like I have 2 sets of injectors for sale...the Trickflow 30lbs and the ones in the earlier post....

Subscribed. I really want to see what the result of this is. I am running 30# SVO injectors but my car made 440hp on Ed Wrights Dyno and tune. Still, I feel like I'm leaving some hp on the table. I don't think my injectors ever hit 100% DC. Hmmmm...where is my ALDL cable?

i think svo injectors are rated at 39psi...so at 43 you should be in the mid 30's....I think...

Re: low dyno numbers..

I seem to remember that now. It has been close to 8 years since I built this engine.
