Re: LOW COOLANT (not true)

I had the same problem for a while. Then I wiggled the connector on the coolant level sensor and I have had no more problems. People have also replaced the coolant level sensor for this issue, so search around and I'm sure you will find more suggestions.

Re: LOW COOLANT (not true)

It's a common problem. Lots of people just disconnect the sensor. Just remember to check coolant level every few days.

Re: LOW COOLANT (not true)

Sometimes a small bubble will get attached to the sensor, so it will mis-read. Happens a lot in the older GMs. Usually when this happens, I rap on the radiator tank a little with a screwdriver handle and that gets it loose. This cause would show up right after a coolant flush, or a wp replacement. Anytime you drain the rad and burp the system.

I had the same trouble with the low coolant light. It ended up being a head gasket.

I unplugged my sensor too, no more problems! Just check your coolant levels from time to time.

Re: LOW COOLANT (not true)

You could try removing the sensor and cleaning it. Sometimes a bit of buildup gets on the sensor and could cause it to malfunction.

I must be one lucky duck, cause I have never had this problem on mine, and I'm at 114K miles.
