yeah its tough to find but what you have to do is remove your battery. then look/feel around the side of the radiator for a wire running up to a square sensor and there you have found the pos coolant sensor.

That I dont know... only reason I know of its location is b/c Ive had the radiator out before. as large and simple as that sensor is though i cant imagine it costs that much. In fact you could probably just splice a large resistor into the wiring harness for next to nothing. of course you would no longer benefit(and i use that term very loosely) from the sensor.

The sensor will get clogged up, its a common thing on our cars. You can try to take it out and clean it or replace it but I suggest you should do the same cheap fix I did to mine, unplug it! You wont throw any codes or anything, the light will obviously just not cut on anymore. Just keep an eye on your coolant level when you do your regular maintance.

Really easy to change out.
Disconnect battery, jack car up, drain coolant to below the sensor (2/3 up on the radiator?).
Pull out metal clip, pull out old sensor. pop in new sensor w/ clip. Fill radiator back up to full, throw the battery in and your done.

Ditto on that. It was a pain for me getting that metal clip in the right spot to slide the sensor in though. My low coolant light is on too and everything is fine. Happens to just about everyone. My SES light has been on for over a year since I have no emmisions equipment and no a/c. My low coolant light is on, so I'm thinking of just switching my asr throttle cable for my non-asr cable that I have so I can get the ABS INOP too. The more lights the better.:blah:

Re: Low Coolant Light

its not bad. here is the sensor

Just replace it, its about $23 bucks. I would never disconnect a sensor that could be critical. Its not hard to replace..
