Love My Z
New to the message board.
I have been reading alot posts and I am amazed at how many problems people have with their cars. I know many have done quite a few mods and probably drive their cars alot harder than me. I have a '95 Z28, I bought it brand new, it has 74,000 miles on it. I store it every winter. The only mod (if you want to call it that) is I put in a CAI. Not sure if I am going to do anymore just yet. I don't drive it hard all the time, but I do punch it once in a while. I guess I just wanted to say how much I love this car. I have always wanted a camaro and love the LT1 engine. I do quite a bit of preventative maintainance. I change the oil every 3000 miles. (I use Mobil 1 synthetic) I change the anti-freeze and transmission fluid every other year. I rotate and balance the wheels every other oil change. The only things that needed replacing was fuel pump and coil wire. I had a small oil leak at about 45,000 miles nothing major. Granted I am the only owner and know every mile on the car. I have been extremely happy with this car. In fact, today I drove home from work with the AC on (90 degrees and very humid in MN today) through major road construction, I was only moving a few feet every 5-10 minutes. My temp never went above 200, I was very amazed at that. I guess I wanted someone to read that they are very happy with their car. These are amazing cars, thats why we all bought them. I am planning on keeping this car forever.
Just wanted to share that with everyone

Ditto. I'm the original owner of my car and at 93k miles the only issues have been the fuel pump and the common LT1 intake manifold leak. Other than that and basic maintenance it has been a GREAT car. I almost traded for an 2000 WS6 T/A, but changed my mind. It seems that once they're paid off I'm very reluctant to trade for payments on another. I plan on pushing my car well over the 200k range, but I do anticipate the eventual rebuild (383) and various other mechanical failures. That's part of "loving" the f-body...
I bought my 97 red z convertible in 99 with 10K miles on it. I just wrote the check for the last payment about 5 minutes ago. FEELS GREAT
The car is no longer the daily driver, I just love it too much to subject it to the daily rigors of michigan roads. Its got 42K miles now, but this summer I'll probably only put 2-3K on it, but I enjoy every friggin mile now........love it. Now that I'm starting to do mods on it, it keeps getting more and more fun!

I happen to have a '95 as well, and while I am not the only owner, it does only have 76,000 miles on it, and the previous owner also stored it in the winter (there isn't much choice in SD) plus kept meticulous maint. records. I have owned a total of 5 f-bodies and I have loved EVERY one of them.
August 1st is my last payment!!! My wife wants me to sell her to get something else...but I told her the fun has just begun. I'm throwing the new engine in another month or so, and the party just begins. For some odd reason...I love my car!!!(I'd rather buy stuff for her than my wife...I think my wife knows...)
LOL preach on brothers... my WS6 is going to be around when I have kids and it's going to have wings and be running 2 second quarter miles street legal
I noticed that a lot of people bitch about problems but those are the people that rag on their cars and don't keep up on their maintenance. I keep up on everything and the only problems with the car are the ones that I have created (stripped spark plug hole etc.) Good luck to all with their future ventures!

I was mr mustang before I got my Z
the last straw was between all my stangs even the 94 cobra being slow AND driving a 2002 mach 1 and it was STILL slow
Stock to stock NONE of them ran like my Z
And 45,000 miles with no real problems yet except maintenance stuff.
