Thumbs down Loud Ticking Noise Under Hood While Engine Running

Could the noise be loose rockers, and if so, would the rockers being loose make the engine run like garbage, please help, this problem of mine is getting on my nerves!

It could be your valves are loose but I would check to see if you have an exhaust leak first. I know that they have a very similar sound under the hood. I mad the mistake of changing my lifters out because I thought they were leaking down and low and behold it was my exhaust gasket was wearing out and leaking.

I had a problem like this. Loud ticking noise. I took off a valve cover to find out I had about 6 spring on that side broke. Went to the other side to find a bunch more broke. Man what a noise that can make.

i guess its a loose rockers. as i've heard that from my car too after i had finished fixing a blown head gasket. i forgot to check some of the rockers to make sure they are tight. So one of the rockers loosen up and make that irritating knocking sounds. it might be an exhaust leaks just like 94blackz14.2 had said earlier. Try to check whether its an exhaust leaks, hopefully its an exhaust leaks.(I doubt its an exhaust leaks, as exhaust leaks doesnt sound like a knocking sound) If not it might be a loose roller rockers. IF it's not a loose roller rockers then it might be a connecting rod problem(hopefully its NOT).
just my opinion
goodluck

I suggested the exhaust leak because he said it was a ticking noise, not knocking. If its knocking then defianetly the rockers are what I would have suggested.

Thumbs up Ticking Noise

False alarm, just changed oil, and ticking noise is gone, was scheduled for oil change in a few hundred miles!
