I put a new comp cam in my car along with the vented opti conversion and i was driving it around, breaking it in, taking it easy when all of a sudden I heard this loud pop/clap and the car completely died....all the gauges when to 0. The lights, etc all still work..the car just cranks, cranks, and cranks.

I have heard that if the dowel pin is too long it will eat up the bearing inside the opti...I didnt touch my dowel pin either as it came from comp.

I destroyed my opti didnt I?

 

It's a good possibility.

 

check your fuses underneath your hood...that's what my car did when it blew the ignition fuse

...you really should have cut that dowel
