Loud clunk and Vibrations form under Car

ok this is the deal, i was racing a S2000 and when i went to throw into second the whole car started shacking and it wouldn't let me go in second final after slowing down it went in. When i was driving it home there was a whole bunch of vibration and clunk under the car like something was hitting. So when i got home i got under the car and looked at the driveshaft and it looks like it through a weight and looks like it was hitting the body a whole lot. Also when i turn the shaft the bolts that bolt it into the rearend look entirely to close and looks like there are wear marks from them actually hitting the shaft. Now i'm not sure if the bolts are suppose to be that close or if the wear marks are suppose to be there. I don't know if this is a side affect from it throwing the weight or not. Now my question is could one of my u-joints have gone bad and put it so out of balance that it would hit the car or would the wieght do that by itself, or could my tranny have something to do with it.
A little background i just took my driveshaft to a shop and had them fix the back u joint and i put it back in myself and it was work fine. i don't know if me putting it back in wrong could have done this or not, but it has been in for about 500 miles and been fine. I have a 97' Camaro SS 6 speed. If anyone can help that would be great, thanks.

Sounds like you might have busted a Ujoint.
Get a friend and you get under the car and watch the Ujoint and have him shift it from 1st to reverse and see if the ujoint is doing anything hinky, like the driveshaft turning to much before it engages.
I busted a ujoint in a 67 camaro once and it vibrated the whole car bad, I got under it and had someone shift from 1st to reverse and the driveshaft would make a complete revolution before it would catch. Replaced the ujoint and it was fine.

Check the Tranny mount..sometimes they will look fine untill you actually get under there and push up on the tranny, then you will see how they seperate and break so easy..Buy the Energy Suspension one if it's broke..
