Lots of cam questions!

im thinking about getting a cam to put in my car but need some questions answered first.

1. how much would i benifit from a cam with the mods in sig.

2. what cam should i get? i want horsepower, but also a mean sounding car, and decent streetability

3. how much does a complete cam install cost, roughly, doing it your self, and also having a shop do it?

thats all i can think of for now thanks guys

1: Headers first

2: Headers first

3: Roughly $600 after all's said and done. Less without rocker arms. Headers first.

Without headers, the potential for the power really isnt there. Get a good set of mids or longtubes, and go from there

I don't mean to hijack but i have a question similar to this...

What if i were to run a CC305 with my mods? Would the Shorty's be enough for the baby cam?

You can certainly run shorties with that cam, but it won't be anywhere its full potential with them.

And to answer the original question, I would recommed an XE 224/230, maybe 227/233.

Unless you go with a hotcam kit, I think you will need at least $800 for everything to do it yourself. Probably around $1300 if a shop will do it for you.
