big stumble, now dead help!!!

My car has been acting up lately, its my car in my sig 93 firebird formula A4 just turned over 80k miles. It seems to not wanna have power down low and is sometimes inconsistent itll start off fine then seem to lose it and dip until like 3k and above then it is fine, only happens under load also, not when u just rev it in neutral. It was doing this to a smaller degree this summer and the air pump went out and replaced it and it helped it out. but also a couple of times i have been goin along nice and pushed the gas half down and the engine would just stop for a second and then id hear a pop from the drivers side and itd start driving fine again(this happens pretty fast). up top still pulls good over 3k and sometimes its perfectly fine down low too. i am perplexed because i dunno what could be wrong any and all help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated ive youve seen it before. thanks a ton

How old are the spark plug wires; look under the hood in the dark with the engine running; see if there's any arcing from the spark plugs wires to the block.

Re: Loss down low Problem help!!!

i just went out n checked for arcing, no arcing anywhere looked for a good while revved it up to look, i checked all over and didnt see anything at all the whole time. ill check out the plugs but i just pulled some not very long ago to check em out and they looked good. but if it indeed could be the opti which is commom then the plugs might be getting fouled from that if they look bad now. ill check em out tho. ive been reading about all this and there will never be a definite answer lol.... but hopefully i can figure something out. if you have n e more helpful advice throw it at me. thanks

Re: Loss down low Problem help!!!

my car isnt putting out much heat from the vents so im believing my heater core might be getting plugged and my coolant system needs flushed, think that might be messing with the water pump and have something to do with it? car has been runnin around normal temp but fluctuates weirdly occasionally goes down or up to the halfway point at 220 on the gauge. just trying to give more info

Re: Loss down low Problem help!!!

its a lot wetter and more humid cuz its crappy outside today and its stumblin more. talked to a buddy that knows a lot about cars and fbodies, gave him a ride and he says opti so thats what im goin after. 80k is enough miles to have a bad opti so ill get on it and let u know if that was it... im hopin thats it at least. checked the plugs n wires n stuff n no problems with em so im guessin the opti is going down
