Loose rocker cause high rpm miss and idle prob?

I havent had a chance yet to pull the valve covers but there is ALOT of clacking coming from underneath there. Supposing there is a loose rocker arm(s) would that cause a predictable high rpm miss and irratic idle?

Why wouldnt a loose rocker cause a miss at low RPM?

PDM: Had this same problem. Turned out to be the dowel on the cam was 3/32s too long - tore up the opti. It could be a few things, but this is going to be my number one check for this problem from now on.

I thought I was the only one with rocker problems Dave. What you described is exactly what had happened to mine a few times. Remember helping me adjust them at the track? Sounds like my car.

Andy, did you have a miss and bad idle when your rocker(s) were loose?

Yeah, and I definitely noticed slower 1/4 mile times too.

A week before my bad lifter issue, my car would had this odd idle like it was missing. And it would kinda do the same thing in low rpms every once in a while. Well that ended up collapsing which caused a bent valve.

You may be having the same issue, or you may have somthing else. All I know is take care of it ASAP.

My lifters should be alright, they are comp R's. Actually all of the rockers were a little loose with a couple a more than the rest. I changed the coil too and Ill see if that doesnt help anything.
