Loose header bolts

My header bolts keep loosening and twice have fallen out, causing the gaskets to go. Has anyone used torque seal?

You should check out Stage 8 locking bolts, I'm using those with my headers and haven't had a problem with them backing out.

Are you using 1" header bolts, or 3/4"?

I switched to 1" bolts. Torqued them down another 1/4 - 1/2 turn a few heat cycles later. (About 100 kms driving over 3 or 4 trips).

how did you install them, did you torque them in once and forget about it? If you did thats your problem...I put mine in, tightened them after the first heat cycle, then tightened them again after another. After that I check em once a week and none have loosened yet (ARP Stainless header bolts)

I did the same and have not had any problems. My header bolts haven't loosened since the first week after the install.

I used ARP 12 pt bolts. Tightend them through about a week of cycling heat and haven't backed out since. Did you tighten them everyday for about a week?

use 1" stage 8 locking header bolts. Tightned mine up one time when installing headers, no problems since.
