looking for some cam swap and heads characteristics...

The Z's full of power, but is awful in normal driving. I understand that until the PCM gets reprogrammed for the L.E. Heads and LT4 hotcam it is going to run a little odd. Here are a few symptoms. If you could just tell me if these are normal before a reprogram.

1st - rough idle
2nd- surging idle
3rd - surges under part throttle (not sure if it is part throttle hesitation but when floored there is no lack of power ).
4th - bad gas mileage
5th - HIGH Idle starts. Like 1800 to 2100rpm. Then quiets down in like 30 seconds to around 900rpm.

Thanks for the help. I think all this is normal when swapping in a cam and heads with out programming. I just need a little piece of mind.

Yeah, they all sound about right. I bet it feels like its going to die when in gear too huh? A tune will fix all that. No problem.

yep that sounds about normal for an untuned heads/cam car. mine was like that until i got pcmforless. now it starts like stock, idles (except for the lope) like stock, and the only cam surge i have is in OD about 45-50mph.
