This is interesting

I would do it a little different, but the idea is there.

I did, however, hear that victory racing is making a new version of it, should be out later this week i guess.
i have that kit you are talking about. it puts an idler pulley where the alternator was and puts the alternator on the driver side beside the crank pulley. i have not ran it yet but my buddy had it on his 396lt1 and it did not slip. i did have to extend my alternator wires and run a 75.5" belt though. i retained all factory accessories including a/c.
I have a new idea since all the others don't work so well because all these kits that are mentioned are expensive and really don't address the issue of keeping power steering. I have found a GM pump and pulley that bolts into exact same place as original, but rotates clock wise instead of counter clockwise and runs a grooved serpentine belt pulley and will allow the alternator to be mounted where compressor is and you will not need an idler pulley mounted up high like the other setups. It retaines the factory tensioner and a modified factory accessory bracket and I will cut off and eliminate the top of both sides of the bracket so it's no longer sticking up. I have the pump and pulley assembled and will begin modifiying accessory bracket as soon as I can. Anyone seriously interested in pics or progress let me know. I will have about $80 in pump/pulley and will use a shorter serpentine belt which probably cost about $25 or so. I don't know belt size yet until it's all reassembled and I get exact measurements. My engine will have crank pulley, relocated alternator where compressor is now, factory tensioner and factory located power steering pump.

definately interested in pics n such
I've got the Street & Performance LT1 bracket set which I was going to use on another project which didn't get completed. I'm going to try it out on my 97 SS when my 383 gets finished to see if it'll fit in the car and if so then I'll use the LS1 CAI with a cowl hood.
WOULD HAVE BEEN GREAT IF THAT REPLY HAD BEEN AVAILABLE IN ANY THREAD 2-4 MONTHS AGO. NUMEROUS OF US HAVE BEEN ASKING FOR MONTHS NOW WHAT KITS WERE AVAIL FOR A/C DELETE WITH RETAINED POWER STEERING. HOW MUCH IS THAT KIT? AND WHERE IS THE LINK SO IT CAN BE PURCHASED. MINE IS ALL DONE NOW WITH CORRECT BELT.
