LT1 Alternator Relocation Bracket with AC

Hello everyone, for those of you that dont know me, my name is Quentin. I have been an active member on this site since 2001 I believe. I had a alternator relocation bracket designed for the LT1 about 4 years ago that retained PS and AC, and moved the alternator to the lower driver side location where the AIR pump use to sit. We have tested this on numerous vehicles for over 4 years now without any issues.

For the last few years we have kinda blown off the production of these, and demand has continued regardless. So I talked with Frez and JasonD, and I agreed to come on board as a site sponsor to help get these brackets out to the masses again.

These are CNC cut, high quality aluminum pieces that include everything you will need to get it mounted on your car. I have included links to a few pictures of them. One pictures shows everything that is included in the kit that will be shipped to you. The other picture is showing the bracket actually installed on my own motor prior to installiation into my Z/28.

I want to head off a few concerns that I know will be brought up. First of all, yes there is enough belt on the crank pully, and no it does not slip. We have run this system for over 4 years and the ONLY issue we have ever run into was the alternator case screws wiggled loose over time. A few dots of red loctite and it has never been an issue since. So please, dont come in and try to tell me this wont work or it will slip. I personally assure you that it does not, and that this system works wonderfully.

The only other issue we have experianced was with the cruise unit on a 95 Camaro. It for some reason was in the way in the past one time, and the buyer had to move the cruise unit over slightly to make everything fit. But in my opinion, if you are going thru this much work already, moving your cruise unit is not that big of a deal.

In the past we sold these brackets for around 255.00 each plus shipping. For this group purchase we will be selling them for 225.00 with shipping included. These will be ready to ship within 4 weeks as they are actually being cut and produced as I type this. I have set up the first run of brackets to give me 10 total units. If there is more interest than that, we will go on a chronological order based on posts in this thread.

Payment will be in the form of money orders only please. I dont use Paypal, and I am sorry but I am simply a gear head with an idea, I cant take credit cards either.

Feel free to PM me with any questions you may have, and I will do my best to help you out. Otherwise, lets get this going.

Man, if it could be done with no pulley at all where the alt used to be, I'd be all over it.

We looked at it from that perspective, but were not able to come up with a workable way to do it with the stock bracket. The idea was to keep cost to a minimum, but to have something that was brute strong and still looked good.

what do you do with the 1-wire plug in, for the Alternator, extend it, i guess? Looks like a nice setup. Would there be any gain power wise, with this?

Yes, a simple extension and some solder and your in business.

As for power gains, I would have to say NO. The main idea here is to be able to use other valve covers, or to be able to adjust your valve lash easier than with the Alternator in your way. The cool thing is you can still run AC and PS if you want. Or you can use a AC delete pully like I did. The point is you have a choice of what you want to do now.

I just want to be clear for everyone. This is the last oppurtunity to order this bracket system. After this group purchase is done, I will no longer be making these. This is a last chance effort basically for you guys. Get them before I stop making them entirely. After this purchase I WILL NOT take ANY orders for these. I am even going to sell off the CNC program to be done with them.

As a "I wish" I'd LOVE to see a alternator relocation for those of us that have kept power steering, but got rid of the AC.

I would buy up something like that in a heart beat, assuming it didn't make me use the air-pump space, since a D1-SC Procharger will be taking up that realestate.

I was the guy with the issue and it wasn't the cruise unit. The entire ABS brake system is the the way and I had to remove abs brakes unit and replace with a line lock kit. Other than that I was happy with it.

Thank you for reminding me of the issue. I couldnt quite remember what it was. Funny thing is, we have sold alot of these over the years, and yours is still the only one to ever have that issue. At least it worked out in the end

Last chance guys and gals. This is the last bump for this topic, and I am offically going to scrap the entire bracket. This is your last chance EVER to get one of these. After that I will not even be responding to requests for them.

Cut off is June 30th for orders.

For the price you can't beat this. I run this myself and I would buy again even with my rare brake setup.

Thanks for the kind words.

Like I said, this isnt about me, nor am I going to retire off of selling these. I just wanted to give one last chance for everyone to get one of these before they go away for good. Then you will have to do your own R&D and milling, and that gets expensive.

This item has offically sailed into the sunset. It was fun, and I thank those of you who bought these in the past. I guess I was wrong to think people still wanted them. NOBODY bought them, and just as well.

In the future, please Do Not request these from me. I am scraping the entire deal. Those that got them, are the lucky ones. Those that didnt can design their own
