Looking for a reliable short block
I will be buying a 383/396 LT1 Stroker short block this summer. I am looking for recommendations on builders. I have checked a few places and all of the prices are pretty similar so, I want something that will be reliable as possible with a supercharger pushing moderate 10-12 lbs of intercooled boost.
I already have an almost complete new top end waiting minus the injectors and intake. After I get those the short block will be ordered.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

Re: Looking for a reliable short block
Why buy a short block? Why not get a stock lt1 short block or bare lt1 block (plenty here and on ebay). Find a local engine machine shop, have them bore, hone, flux, deck the block etc..... get your internals (crank,rods,pistons,etc.. etc.. etc..) build the motor how you want, and build it once..Then you will know EXACTLY what parts go into your motor, etc... You can also have your engine machine shop assemble the motor as well as do the machine work....better and the o **** factor when it comes to $$$ is not all at once
Its what im doing....

Re: Looking for a reliable short block
Not a bad thought, although I think I would want to go with a complete balanced rotating assembly. Biggest thing around here is finding a place I can trust.
Norther VA, anyone have suggestions?
The Christmas like onslaught of parts in the mail is always nice in that senario I guess..
