Looking for a clutch part.

I know this sounds stupid but.....I need the small plastic piece that goes on the end of the clutch actuation rod at the slave cylinder. Can anyone tell me if this is important? Thanks.

Are you talking about the little white plastic tie wrap looking piece? You can see it in this picture on the left hand side.

Thats the one. It's the plastic cap that goes over the ball end of the actuation rod. I recently found out it is important. Only way to get a new one from GM is to buy the whole assembly

Important? I had thought it was only there to aid in initial install? Once installed this tie-wrap thing breaks... or so I thought. LOL! Mine is broke as well... but I thought it was supposed to be?

Anybody know the entire scope behind this thing?

I'm not talking about the ties wraps on either side, I'm talking about the little cup shaped plastic piece they connect to at the top on the end of the rod.
