Running a mechanical temp gauge is a bit of a problem, since you have to route the capillary tube from the tranny connection to the interior of the car. Electronic is fine. I ran out of A/C holes in the dash, so I used 2-1/16" 1/4-sweep elctronic gauges in the A-pillar for oil and tranny temp.

Hey Inj,You have an automatic w/ a monster tach. How do you utilize that thing.I want one but don't know if it's worth it.I would like a shift light to run on a roll. These transmissions love to go to OD @ like 40mph.How do you have your shift points setup like right before 5,800 or somethin'.

The B&M Pro-Ratchet shifter controls a manual reverse-pattern valve body on a TH400 tranny. Since the trans can't shift itself, I have to know when. The stock tach is sort of useless, because I'm running a solid roller cam, a 7,200rpm redline and spraying a 300-shot off the line. You'd be surprised how fast redline comes up with that kind of power off the line, so the shift light helps.
And, being a certified senior citizen, the 5" AutoMeter is a little easier to see than the factory tach...
