Look at read out...what's wrong?

I have been having trouble at start up. If I don't rev the car close to redline on startup the car will die. But after it revs to redline it runs fine. I hooked up a comp to it and ran datamaster and this was my read out after letting sit overnight and second column is after driving for a while and at idle:
IA temp: 33.5 C 49.3 C
IAC Pos: 130 19
O2 mV: 453 for both 835 and 617
MAP kPa: 99.7 35.8
Engine: 28.3 C 83 C
Oil: 36.8 C 36.8 C
Open Loop Closed Loop
I think I may have a small exhaust leak but I don't think that would cause the car to have problems at startup. Can anyone tell me what the problem could be?
Also my low coolant light just came on and there is plenty of coolant in there.

A single frame of data doesn't tell you much. From what you posted, it appears you turned the key on and didn't start the engine. The IAC motor is parked at 130, the MAP is showing barometric pressure, the O2 sensors are showing the voltage the PCM feeds them, They are not hot enough to generate their own voltage. Its in open loop - sort of normal, but not a lot of useful info. I'd be willing to bet you missed a "minus" sign on the "oil temp", since the F-Body LT1 doesn't have an oil temp sensor, and the scan will usually show a default value of about -40degC.

You last column with the engine running shows the IAC motor has closed down to control the idle, the MAP is normal for a "stockish" cam, the PCM is in closed loop. The two values for the O2 readings are useless.... they are changing about 9 times per second, and should swing back and forth over a range of 0XX - 9XX mV's. Simply recording a single frame of data is not useful.

Since you have DataMaster, why don't you do a complete data log of the car from cold start through normal warmup and driving. That would allow someone to take a look at the data log and see if there are obvious problems.

Re: Look at read out...what's wrong?

i tried getting the run to my home pc but i forgot to dl burning software on my car pc and i can't find my memory stick. since my car pc only has usb ports i guess i'll buy a new usb stick tomorrow and post. thank you for the response. i wish i lived next to you, i'd be bugging you all the time, lol.

i went to a mechanic today and asked about my problem and they said everything looked normal and it would probably be best to take it to a performace shop where they can hook up all kinds of probes to the engine. does anyone know a place that would do this around grand rapids, mi?
