Longer Wheel Studs

I run Weld front skinnies on the front for the track that require spacers. Accordingly I ordered longer wheel studs from Lingefelter, (12m x 1.5), using Injuneers advice. The studs work fine with the Welds, but I'm having trouble finding lug nuts that will work with my everday wheels. I have some Koenig mags that use the very narrow diameter Gorilla lug nuts which are capped. The problem is that the studs are too long. I can't for the life of me find "open ended" lug nuts that are narrow enough to fit int the recesses lug nut wholes on my everyday wheels. Anyone have any ideas, I've thought that I might just cut the caps off of the Gorilla nuts but dont want to implement this "ghetto" solution except as a last resort.

Thanks.

Check out Ebay. They have a lot of different open end lug nuts available on there. Also there is a Lady that sells quite a few on there and if you dont see what your looking for email her and she will probably have what you want. I couldnt find metric in what I wanted but when I emailed her she set me up an auction just so I could purchase them. Also have you checked Summit and Jegs? They have some different selections of open ended lugnuts.

When I installed the longer studs, I was running ZR1 replicas for my street tires. In the front I ended up taking the closed acorns that came with the ZR1's, drilling completely through the closed end, and tapping it to match the internal threads. Now the lug nuts will at least screw on all the way. Unfortunately, they look ugly as sin. In the back, where I had 1/2" studs, I was able to find a "duplex acorn" that was closed end, and twice as long as a normal acorn. When I drilled and threaded those for the rear wheels, they came out looking "OK". And they are nice and deep in the 17x11's, so not real visible.

Rear wheels, tapped and threaded

Front wheels - this is why my car is now a "track" car
