Long Tubes how hard to put in?
Re: Long Tubes how hard to put in?
Its not that hard. Just take your time and make sure you have everything you need before you start.
Mine took about 6 hours from start to finish with many beer breaks

Re: Long Tubes how hard to put in?
The longest part of the install is getting the manifolds off.
My brother had SLP shorties on his car and went with the Pacesetters and it took him about hour to hour and half to pull the SLP's and install the pacesetters.

Re: Long Tubes how hard to put in?
I installed Pacesetter LTs and both of them went in from the top rather easily. I took the alternator, starter, valve covers, and steering knuckle off and they slid down in there.
Like it was said before, make sure you have everything you need before you start and getting the manifolds off is probably the hardest part (it was for me).

Re: Long Tubes how hard to put in?
just did a set on my friends 95 ta yesterday and it took about six hours but the exhaust was hacked by someone else so it took a while longer to get the y-pipe to fit the way we wanted. the headers were on in about 4hrs. not to bad of a job if nothing goes wrong.

It's not hard but if you don't enjoy working on cars this will be very miserable for you. I went with hooker headers, and they allow for you to keep steering linkage in place which is nice. The hardest part in IMO is getting the darn things to slide up. I had to jack the motor maybe 3-4 inches and slide them in.
You have to move a few wires on the side of the pass. fender otherwise you will burn them. and I believe there is one wire on the drivers side to. If i remeber right they are 14,16,18, and 20 ga wire. Since everything is off do a full tune up. Plugs OVC wires, T-stat, and anything else you've been putting off.
MOST IMPORTANT THING: Take your time. Cause one broken bolt can end up in a 10 hr project turning into a 3 week project. Be very careful unbolting the manifolds. Otherwise those heads are comming out.
Good luck. Got any questions or need a to see what I used let me know
