Which Long Tubes give the best ground clearance ... This IS my last ? Sorry ...

Ok just as the subject says, Which set of long tubes will give the very best ground clearance?

My driveway sucks big ones, and is steep, I dont want to rip them off 5 mins after I put them on.

Also, Im sorry everyone for going nuts tonite with all these header ?'s. I know headers are a pretty basic mod, but I have my complicatios ... The driveway, and my inspector both suck. And I dont want to buy a set then regret not buying different brand. Im on a pretty tight budget so this is a major buy for me and I dont want to have to redo anything, or spend more then I have to. Thanks guys ...

FLP's maybe better than Hookers. If you have the stock ride height the hookers arent bad at all.

I hear pacesetters have the best ground clearance, My hookers arent too bad but the y-pipe is sometimes what will get ya!

The pacesetters look like they have good clearance and they don't have a flange either like the Hookers/Jethots which is the lowest point on them I think. I don't know anything about the ypipe for the pacesetters and they are fairly new so there isn't a lot of info out on them. Someone with in the last 5 days posted the first pix I've seen of them installed but I don't think it showed ground clearance. Do a search for Pacesetter and see what you can find out.

My TPiS longtubes are level with the oil pan. It's the ypipe that can give you problems. The driver side crossmember is the main obstruction.
It can be finely(!) adjusted with a small sledgehammer and the pipe can be flattenned out to provide adequate clearance.

2cub49 , how close are they to your oil filter? jw ... I dont want to have to yank my cooler out, it has that sandwich adapter thing, and its a little bit lower hanginh ( 1/2" to an 1" ) lower then with the stock thing they call a cooler .

Also, anyone with pacesetters know how close they come to the oil filter both up and down, as well as side-to-side clearance ???

Also, with Pacesetters, how low are they compared to TPiS's? 2Cub49 said theyre level with the bottom of the pan.

Thanks for all the info so far. Can you please do me a HUGE favor though? Measure your ground clearance at the slip fit collector, and on the y pipe at the lowest point on it? And one more little thing, could you give me a decent idea of how close your headers are to your oil filter? Does your car have the factory equiped oil cooler also ? My car had it but I ripped it off cause the lines were bad, and I put an aftermarket cooler on. The new sandwitch adapter makes my filter about 1" lower, maybe a little less than that, then it was with the stock cooler. So im worried that pacesetters would hit it, and I dont want to have to remove my oil cooler for headers. So I was hoping someone with a set of pace setters would let me know how much room they have left and right from clearing the oil filter, and especially, how far below the oil filter the headers are. Also, what filter are you susing, so I can see if its bigger or smaller then my Purolater ...

If its not too much of a problem, Id really appriciate it, thanks.

Yep I'll measure it in a few minutes. I didn't even take my oil filter off to put the header in...it doesn't even come close. I'm also using a purolater...

BRB gonna go measure.

Ok the collectors are 5" from the ground, and the lowest point of the Y-pipe is 4 3/4".

Trust me....my driveway is steep too as you can see in the pics on my cardomain page. Sometimes I even hit the air dam if I pull out straight, but so far I haven't touched anything w/the new exhaust setup.

I was checking out your pictures, my driveway is definatly steeper, but it dont have the drop off at the end where it meets the raod like yours ( or at least in the picture it looks like it is a decent bump coming in ) So I *SHOULD* be ok ... with pace setters could I use my old wires or am I going to need the ones that go over the valve covers ? My wires only have 2K on them, the whole car only has 14K

With the Pace Setter Y-Pipe, did it match right up to your old catback no problem? I wanna keep my Flowmaster, and ... eventually I need to get a Cat put on before next inspection

It mated up fine, and I had it welded.
