Long tube header poll
Long tube header poll
I have been looking at getting kooks headers but still thinking of going with other header options just to free up some money.I'm looking at pacesetter,Jet Hot,Hooker. Just wondering which people have like the best for fitment and everything concerned.
Re: Long tube header poll
I went with Hooker since I have them and know they fit well. They installed with no problems, and never hit the floor boards or anything. I bought them used for way cheaper than retail so I cant make a case for them on price.

I went with the coated, non-emmisson Pacesetters. They have nice thick flanges, pretty good plug access, and probably the best ground clearance next to the Kooks. Not to mention the slip fit for the collector to Y-pipe connection is leak free (if you run band clamps that is) compared to the 3-bolt style that the Hookers and Jet Hots use. The damn gaskets on those 3-bolt style blow out too much IMHO.
Re: Long tube header poll
im running pacesetter longtube, non emissions too. Big primaries, excellent coating durability, and less than half the price of kooks. I look for best bang for the buck. I have 6 thousand miles on mine so far, all daily driving and stop and go traffic, the coating still looks excellent! Plus, it gets hot as **** up here in MN during the summer, but I have no problems. I have polly egine and tranny mounts, and every time I floor it there is NO clunking on the floorboards like some people complain about. Slip fit collecter rocks, you can pull the y pipe one way or the other to fit around stupid drive shaft safety loops!
I got mine with coated y for 400 shipped. Cant beat that deal! It matched up well with my stainless magnaflow kit.

I have been running Jet Hot coated Hooker LT's for years now. Like most other headers they are kind of a pain to install, and plug access is fair.
Honeslty if you can save up the money. Kooks are the best. They weren't available when I got my Hooker's, and the gain they would get me above my Hookers aren't worth the hassle of buying them, installing them, and then selling mine, but if I had to do it over from the start I would say go with the Kooks! Their power gains are superior to the others, and plug access is friggin awesome!

I have FLP's. They are expensive too. Come in a kit with 2 cats and a y-pipe which all use awesome v-flanged connections.. no leaks at all and easy to take apart, great design. They fit pretty well and the coating on mine has been excellent. The only problem is the number 5 spark plug is very difficult to change. Don't know if anyone sells them anymore.
