locks and retainers? what ones?

What retainers and locks do I need? I see so many and dont know what I need.

I have 1.6 NSA RR's and chromemoly push rods.

I really dont know what I need to do or get... all I know is I will need retainers and locks. I understand that the lock come with the retainers. and that I need them for NSA rr's

but do I need to spend 200 bucks on titainium this and that...

I'm running stock cam.

Well, if you are running 1.6RRs you will need stronger springs. Depending on the springs you get, the manufacurer will have the locks and retainers.

Some springs will work with the stock retainers.

Most use 7 deg. locks. The option would be 10 deg. locks, but are not necessary with your application.

And yes, titanium would definitely be overkill.

Single springs should work just fine and will not require any machining of the seats.JMHO

Well, I suppose you could get retainers from other vendors. Crane has retainers listed in Summit, Part# CRN 99944-16 for single or dual springs. If you have 11/32 valve stems, which I assume you do, the retainers have an OD of 1.430-1.500 and your particular springs have and OD of 1.460.

As far as the locks, the machined steel locks for the 11/32 valve stems are CRN 99097-1.
