Serene I know you already have done several threads on your problem, I feel your pain.
I wish I had your car in front of me to look over I'd be glad to help ya out.
I had the 230/236 in my 383 for a little while with 10.8 or so compression and 190cc AFR heads, it ran like a scalded monkey!!! Never got any dyno or track time with it, but I had simular problems as Serene did on my car with the 224/230 cam and same engine as I have now, it ran great to the 1/8th mile but after that just seemed to lay over, trapping at a pitiful 108-109 mph. I never really got to troubleshoot it except to check ign compression and fuel (all were fine) I changed cams and it felt like I added 100 hp.
After a mild fender bender I have it apart again to try the GM 847 cam to see how much better it is.
Its not a daily driver so I can tear it apart when I feel like it

I haven't been out there at all. I'm planning on going in August, when the new motor is in/running. I'm only five minutes away.
I have the set up your looking at too.
I picked up some moderately ported LE heads, peak around 255cfms @ .550 but the midlift numbers were really nice which is what i wanted.
It has 52mm tb, CAI, 30lbs svo, 1.6rr, XE230/236 112lsa, Jet hot LTs, 3inch ypipe dual high flow cats, borla, CSI pump, stock fuel pump, 6 speed, stock 3.42 gears and all the other little free mods and bolt ons..
Tuned by tuner cat on the street, didnt mess with A/F only timing.
Car runs hard, and violent
I havent had it to the track yet but it'll pull on my friends cars that trap 109, 109 and 111mph. If i were to guess, I'd guess 114-115 on a cold day.
i live in florida, cold to me is 45-60 degrees

I had a mail order tune from Ed wright. It was actually the first file he had ever made for the 230/236, so I'm sure he has made some improvements from then. My numbers where also through shorties and full SLP exaust.

I run 1.5 Roller rockers, headers, cutouts, electric water pump and it has been dyno tuned by pcmforless
I slapped down 344 hp (no peak torque number due to a damn downshift at the start of the run)
you need to get some data logging or dyno tuning to find out why your car is not running like it should.

Check:
opti
plugs
wires
ignition coil/wire
MAF counts (if you have a scanner)
injector harnesses are on the right injectors
Have your rockers checked to see if they're adjusted right. A friend of mine on here had an XE224/230 installed and it was WAY down on power. Turns out that the rockers weren't adjusted right on 2-3 cylinders. After the new adjustment the car was totally different.... lots more power and drove/idled/sounded much better.
If none of that fixes it, then it's probably a good bet that your timing set is off... pull the front cover and check the dots.
