I am curious about why these setups will only last 20-60k miles? Is it like that with any set of heads? I am looking at just getting some heads at the moment but I want them to last a loooong time.

setups will last as long as you take care of them. TYPICALLY, and i know im going out on a limb here , youll want to run your car a little harder after you get a h/c package. this will wear your engine quicker than if you had just taken it easy and not decided on a h/c combo.

I have one question, will the LE3 heads work well with a LT4 intake over the LT1?

I'm contemplating getting an LT4 intake, but if it's not needed, I won't get it

If you get a real high lift cam then you need to replace the valve springs every 30k or so. I am not very familiar with Joe O cams so I cant say for sure if thats going to be an issue. Staying with a low lift cam... say under .580 lift should last a long while.

ahh didn't know that. i will stick w/ my LT1 then.

430rwhp on an LE3 setup with all the boltons, electric wp, 58mm TB, longtubes and true duals sounds badass to me

Actually .600 lift and lower on a street car is ok as long as the system is designed for it.

Replacing springs every two years is good to do to be on the safe side.

Yeah but those things aren't good for .600 lift in the real world. U have to shim them up WAY to much before they are worth a **** and by that time all the lift potential is gone.

You get what ya pay for.

well anyone who gets a set of springs good to .600" lift and actually RUNS it to that is nuts to begin with. id use these springs with a lift around .575-.580 at the most.
