Not to be negative but wait till you have a steady cash flow $4000. is just starting up.Think about the tranny & all the little things you will find need to be replaced when you add that much power all at once to a old car.DO IT, but life will be easier with money for back up.GOOD LUCK

(I also don't plan on getting the 3.73s and the converter right now.)
Without the gears and converter you would want less cam in the car. Going with a LE1 cam would work out better for you then.

Really bolt ons and driveline mods should come first so that the car will be faster when you have the power.

If you spend all your money to make that kinda power you're gonna be screwed if you tear up your bottom end. what if your tranny breaks down? You're gonna want a rear end girdle also. I think you should take that money and get all the bolt ons first. nice headers, exhaust, some subframes, lca's , pandhard rods. Maybe upgrade your tranny first. it would be smart to get your car ready so it can handle all the horsepower when you have more money.

I was just going to shoot for getting the LE 2 heads/cam and getting the converter and gear this summer when i am working again. i tend to do a lot of highway runs, so the stock converter really doesnt matter to me right now, and the 3.73's would be perfect, but if i run short on cash after everything is said and done the stock 3.23's are real nice for top end... don't get me wrong i plan on getting the driveline mods in time but i'd like the extra hp now.

right now i'm at 61,000 miles, i was looking at running a shift kit on the tranny along with upgrading the cooler which should help out a bit, Do you think that i will still have problems with it going out on me soon?? about the bottom end, any way u put it i'll be screwed if i tear up bottom and i guess im just hoping i don't. i also plan on getting the LT headers, i already have a exhaust, lca's i can wait on. subframe connectors i can prolly wait on being im not doing a whole lot of hard lauching right now just highway runs, i'll get those when i get the converter and rear end. I guess what it comes down to is if i break something, although its going to suck, i afford to just let the car sit being that i got a 99 SI for a daily driver; and right now I just want some more power out my car.

if you can feel your transmission already slipping, dont bother with the shift kit. itll just help your trans go out quicker. if its not slipping, add the shift kit and let us know how it holds up
