a little overheating question

okay heres the platform 1993 pontiac trans am gt 88,000 miles on it lt1 auto. the problem is that when I cruise around with the air on ,on the freeway or the styreets the temp stays around 235 . heres what is done buy to the car it has a hypertech fan switch that is still working so its not the fans it has a 160 t-stat thats brand new just replaced today to try to remedy the problem
. it has new fluid and was flushed the air dam is in perfect condition and the water pump is working like it should I just dont understand how my car can go from working like I want one day( staying a 170 all day long no mater the temp outside with or without air) to just overheating the next. Everything is perfect on the car all stock un touched except for the fan switch and the t-stat so any help will he great. I dont want to change the radiator to a 3 core or b-cool so help please

Did you bleed the cooling system? That reverse flow has a bad habit of trapping air and needs to be bled after a flush either through the bleeder valve or by removing the radiator cap (engine cool) and allowing the engine to idle until warm.
