Lifters Wear out?

Lifters Wear out?
How long does it take for lifters to wear out? Would buying a used set be a bad idea? If i got a set of comp r's for $100 that were used for 3 summers, would it be a bad idea?? Or should i buy them at that price.

lifters are'nt too picky unless you're making tons of rpm. comp r's seem to be the lifter on choice by many. i have never used them but their basic design is like all other roller lifters, but with more mojo. if rebuilding, i would buy new or low miles used. I admit, I'm into the used buying too... great deals. I'd say that 3 summers on a set of roller lifters is not bad. assuming those 3 summers were'nt spent traveling the world. generally, u can reuse a stock lifter on a new cam. i used some 75k mile old roller lifters on an iroc 305 motor i rebuilt. ran fine, even to 6k rpm a few times. never had any problems.

As long as they are roller lifters and in good shape.
Don't try that with flat tappet with more than a few miles on them.
