Lets say you spin a bearing... work involved

Ok im thinking about doing heads..
Lets say worse case scenario and I spin main bearing or rod bearing..
Give me a quick run down of the work involved and the cost of the new bearings and gaskets of replacing the bearings.
About how long would it take to do who is fairly mechanically inclined. I'd have e a helping hand around too.

Well to say the least the bottom end would have to be rebuilt. I'm building a motor for some one right now who spun a few mains and rod bearigs. The machine work was $350. Plus we went with new rods and pistions just had the crank turned and the mains alighned bored. If you were just using the stock stuff i think you could get it all back together with about $500-800 including the rings, oil pump bearings and maybe the rods will not have to be resized. HTH
