Lean condition with new Cam?
Lean condition with new Cam?
I was wondering if any of you guys experienced a LEAN condition after you installed your new cams. I put in a Comp Extream 230/236 and on the dyno it went 18-1 AFR at 5000 rpms, WOW!
We finally got it down to 14.5 or 15 to1 AFR by buring a new chip, but that is not good enough on the track. The duty cycle was 104% at WOT, again NOT GOOD. So I am saving up the money for a Hypertech AFPR ($139).
This was on the 1993 Speed density Camaro.
I have ask a few of the experts on the board but never though of asking it this way in a post.
I have rechecked the Comp RR 1.6 adjustments.
The Fuel filter was clean, I removed it and cut it to expose the paper element.
The fuel pressure was 40 43 even on the DYNO!
The cam was installed dot to dot, no extra advance.
Jet Hot headers no leaks.
Intake has good vacumn, 12 at idle and 20 at part throttle.
No EGR.
The injectors looked clean they only have 20,700 miles on them, but they are 22# stock.
That is all I can think of.
