LE2/LE3, cam, times

What kind of times did you get with his setup? Please post auto/man and gears.

Re: LE2/LE3, cam, times

LE2, shakedown pass.. first ever after 50 miles of runtime 11.9 @ 114 with a ****ty 60'.

A4 with a 3200 stall and 3.73's.

No times yet with my LE3, didn't get much runtime out of the LE2 before the shortblock gave up. I'm understalled and undergeared anyways.

How much more can be expected out of the LE3? I have a 4000 stall and gears will be 4.?? Actually your 60ft isn't bad. The MPH is average.

Re: LE2/LE3, cam, times

The car was having the issues in my sig... wasn't idling right, to be honest, I should *not* have run it. If I hadn't that motor might still be in my car today :/

There was alot more left in it.. especially if the tranny would have not held 2-3 so damn long.

I consider that 60' bad My car is a low 1.6x 60' car.

Your stall and gear are matched up nicely to an LE3... but I wouldn't spin a stock shortblock that high if that's what you have.

Re: LE2/LE3, cam, times

Well a couple yaers back when Lloyd first started porting heads I had him port my stockers and Joe O did one of the first LE1 cams (11.66@117mph). This was with a 3,500 converter, 3.42 gears and a 3,550lbs raceweight. Now with a CC306, LE Trickflow heads, 3.55 gears, 4k verter, full dual 3inch exhaust, 3,400lb raceweight and a 6,000 rpm limit (11.15@121mph N/A and 9.83@136mph on 175NX). I was having issues with valvesprings so it was only making power to 6k and have since fixed it so it should run 10.80's when we get some better weather in a few months. Later Clint

Yea, I saw the spread of your car in the latest GM hi-tech performance that came in the mail the other day..VERY cool....it's real nice to see a NON-stroker LT1 with a pretty normal nitrous shot get into the 9's....a very well set-up car, and a nice 60FT time .......Joe

I saw that too Your car is pretty awesome Clint

And about the LE2 heads/LE3 cam times, I will have a similar set up very soon. It's still under construction. My cam is an LE3, but my heads were not done by Lloyd, they are from Cylinder Head Specialties. I know flow #s aren't everything, but if they are any indication I would say my combo should perform very well. I'm expecting 400+rwhp and mid-11 sec ets

Also, for the record I have e-mailed Lloyd and pmed Bret several times to ask questions and both of them have been very helpful

Thanks guys, it just goes to show that you don't have to throw a ton of money or all the fanciest parts to make these 4th gens quick. It does take some planning, putting a combo together and getting it right. later Clint

I'll also add a knowledgeable owner/builder/driver, and an awesome DA and hookin' track. Loved the GMHTP coverage

Re: LE2/LE3, cam, times

Thats funny right there Tim. I will say that I haven't run this setup in really good air yet. I did run the 11.15@121mph@NoProblemRacewayPark, (1.48 60') right before the good air got here last year. On my best n2o pass the DA was 300' above sealevel, which is pretty good weather, but it was at a crappy track (Eunice) which people know is not known for hooking too well. Hopefully I will get to take advantage of that good air after the summer is over. Later Clint

Re: LE2/LE3, cam, times

Sweet times from the LE combo!

Dang!! My best DA ever is 1546 above sea level. I would LOVE to try out a DA of 300. My track (Mid-Michigan Motorplex), is a nice track, but it's 600' above sea level. I'm trying to go back this fall in cool weather.
