LE2 cammed 355, times inside---->

went on street tires 245/50's full weight, full tank of gas, and the car had a miss under 2500rpm. also i had the SES light on both runs after the 1/8th. basically i just wanted to see what my trap speeds looked like but i know there's power missing and the car needs some more tuning cuz it surges like crazy under 2krpm and wont stay on when i hit the brakes and turn. as soon as i got to the track i registered and ran like 10 min after, car was a little hot after the 30 min drive. weather was good mid 70's and about 50% humidity. my launch technique was just get off the line without spinning then nail it after 2nd gear.

1st run

2.2 60ft
9.06@85
13.6@109.5

2nd run

2.2 60ft
8.94@86
13.4@109.7

it wasnt too bad but i know there's some more power in the setup, just need to datalog the car and see what its doing. im hoping for low 12's@111 when i get the bugs out, pull weight, and of course slicks and skinnies. just for comparison an '03 cobra ran 12.2@108 on et street radials, so i know the power is there just cant put it down. anyone think i break 11's before i put heads in it?

BTW i think my tranny went cuz i couldnt get the car out of 2nd gear on the way home, but i just drove it and its working fine now.

It's a LE2 cam, that IS the specs.

Get the miss and the SES lights cleared before you do anything else. Doesn't do you much good to be driving around with those. You did pick up 7mph, but stumbles will kill you badly in ET.

how much power should i be putting down with that trap speed? the miss is prolly due to one of my plug wires being burned through. i checked the ses light and it says that the car is running lean (Bank 2), so i think i need either a bigger fuel pump or some SVO 30#'s. i read somewhere that cams with a lot of overlap tend to trick the pcm into thinking its running lean, is this true?

I doubt it's a miss below 2k. I bet it's a surge. And, it won't matter with your track times because how much of that is spent at 2k and below anyway.

Also, yes, the O2's will see a false lean condition from a cam with a lot of overlap. If you're cam only, your fuel pump and injectors SHOULD be alright. My pump failed on me at 360 rwhp. Pull all of your plugs and see what they look like. That will give you a feel for what the car is doing.

Was the car dyno tuned? Did you make any logs of the car at the track? I'd like to see a dyno chart or a log to see where the car is at in the tuning department. I definitely think there is more in the car. There definitely needs to be more in that 60ft time, too (practice, practice, practice or a sticky tire ).

i know the miss is there cuz i can here it in the exhaust, especially when im at cruising speeds. the car surges at idle when warmed up and if i drive under 2k rpm it will surge as well. i am considering a vacuum canister cuz when im backing out and turning at the same time the car wants to die. when this happens the car will just stall/sputter and i have my pedal to the floor, then all of a sudden it will come alive and drive as usual.

the car has a pcmforless tune but im working on getting a datalog with some help from a local board member. when the car is on it runs pretty rich judging by the smell of gas, but i have pulled the plugs before and the pass side look black and the driver side looked tan or slightly white.

next time im going with the car running in good shape, also im gonna borrow my friends alumastars all the way around, pull the interior, 1/4 tank of gas, and im shooting for a 1.6 60ft which should drop my times substantially(sp?).

Get the bugs worked out and a tune. No need for a vacuum canister with an LE2 cam.

I agree. It bogging down could be result of needing ps fluid or your IAC counts could be maxxing out.

i checked the PS fluid and it needed some, which is a result of a pinhole leak that i wasnt able to track down til now. to tell you the truth i never had problems with the car bogging down when i hit the brakes and turned till a month or two ago. thats right around when the leak started, but hopefully it'll help solve the problem. still trying to get a datalog and no one down here does any tuning on LT1's let alone 93's so i might have to take a trip to houston after christmas.

I put down 114 mph through an A4 on a very ****ty pass with lots of problems.. you have a ways to go figuring the car out. That was with my old 350 and an LE2 cam.
