LE2 or AI 190cc questions

Anybody know the exact compression ratio after the installation of either combo? I've read that the compression ratio changes after install but I cant find an exact number. Anybody with either combo running spray have a good cam suggestion? Wanting some good streetable power but something that would take advantage of 100-125 shot.

Re: LE2 or AI 190cc questions

Compression will depend on how much you have them mill the heads and what gasket you use. Neither has a set number. On the cam work with the heads people both companies offer cams why not take advantage of that service while getting the heads chances are VERY good you will be further ahead than had you let the folks on the board point you at some old and unduely popular grind as they oh so often do.

I am VERY happy with the AI stuff, for my application we chose to somewhat aggressively mill the heads and use a thin gasket pushing the compression to around 11.5, had we stuck to just cleaning up the deck and using a thicker gasket like the LT4 probably could have gotten it all the way down to 10.3 (stock with the aluminum heads and stock gasket is 10.4).

Don't get me wrong you need to have a clue what you want and need when you call one of these shops, BUT they are there to offer you a service and it is in their best interest to help you make your car work well so put some trust in them to help you.
