LE1 cam ... Leave EGR alone? Disable it? Does it matter?

Should a heads/cam swap call for the deletion of EGR or should i leave it as it is? It is functioning correctly at the moment,

Leave it alone if everything if functioning correctly. Most of the time when you put on a less restrictive exhaust there is obviously less backpressure and the EGR often times doesn't work properly and you get the dreaded SES light. The EGR recirculates exhaust gas and decreases the chance of detonation.

Well, i hear cam surge can be minimized by deletion of the EGR system due to the overlap of the cam. From what i've read, LT4 engines don't have EGR systems because the overlap of the cam allowing "natural" egr.
