LE 2 cam vs GM846. Which makes more power?
Just curious to know if the le2 cam is better than the gm846 and will it pass emissions? What is the le2 cam comparible to?

Thanks for the reply. Lloyd's packages are definitely impressive but I was wondering if the differences between his and mine was in the heads or the cam. I wish Lloyd was around when I first got my setup 5 years ago.

If the le1 cam is similar to the 846 in idle quality, I cannot even imagine how nasty the le2 cam must sound.

If your heads are 5 years old it's very possible that they don't flow a ton. Most of the older stuff I have checked out only move about 255-260cfm at the most.

What do you guys think I should do if they don't flow that well, start over with a new set or have these worked over some more?
Judging by my dyno numbers(355 rwhp, forgot the torque) would it be accurate to assume that my heads don't flow that great given that I'm using the 846 cam through SLP shorties, 3200 converter, and a 12 bolt with 3.73s? I guess I should find out what guys are making nowadays with le1 packages with similar mods.
Javier, I'm curious to find out what kind of numbers your new setup produces. I've heard that the le3 cam specs are pretty close to the gm847 except it makes more power across the board.

According the the flow sheet ARE supplied with the heads, the flow #s were 270/197 @ .600. God only knows how true those numbers are. I had planned on getting them flowed when I pulled the motor apart a couple years back but never got it done. I do have to remove the heads again so I'll definitely have it done this time.

Yeah I've had a lot of heads with 270cfm flow sheets that fall short. I would expect 255cfm would be what they are. The best thing to do is get a set of castings from Lloyd at a LE2 level and call it good.
The LE3 cam is around GM847 range, that's what Lloyd mentions when he has to compare it to something.
