All lead-acid batteries die eventually. You could have an alternator problem, but I highly doubt it. How long a battery lasts is anyone's guess. I'd recommend buying a battery from auto-zone (I can't remember the brand right now) because they offer a free-replacement warranty if it fails in the first 3 years. I've used that sales "perk" once already...

Bought some cheap motomaster battery from Canadian tire w/ a 2 year warranty on it... 2 bad I don't have a car to drive my battery down there and get it replaced :/ I'll claim it after and see if i can sell it.. argh the troubles of livin on your own...

toby have you checked the fuses under the hood? I think you guys have 2 body fuses there that are 30 amp and run the whole interior electrical system, ignition, lights, starter,etc
