the strip had a burnout contest and i entered with a set of old tires i had laying around. well once they started smoking the car would rev up to about 5k and then it would drop down to 2k and back to 5k and back to 2k. it did this for the entire burnout 90 sec on the dot. any idea what this could have been or what caused this? i have a a4 btw. oh well even tho i didnt win i got a badass vid of it.

 

Sounds like it was shifting to me...I see that you have an A4, that's what I would say it was. Shifting in between 1st and 2nd gear.

 

well i have a shift kit and it was locked in 1st gear the whole time

My old 94 Formula would shift to second when it hit the 5500 mark even it is was all the way in 1st.. Dont know if it did it to protect the engine from blowing up or if my trans or PCM was screwed up. I'll have to try it in my camaro

 

the vid was shot in the stands and you cant hear the car. so its useless. i know it wasnt shifting becuse the shift kit i have locks it in what ever gear i put it in, the only way it will shift is if i shift it with my hand by bumping the lever up a notch to the next gear

 

There is a bit of programming code that will cause the car to shift out of first after you bounce off the rev limiter.
