Will not idle it dies
Over the summer last year i blew a head gasket and i swaped them out and all that, changed the opti as well. i noticed that it would when warmed up idle up and down a little, i could deal with it just put it in nutral and all was fine. now its gotten baddd once it warms up the rpms want to drop and the oil drops and will die if i do not break and gas it but that only does a little. when its cold its fine it will be constant but once it heats up it will not idle in park n or drive but for a few seconds then will shut off. im hoping its something as simple as a fuel pressure regulator or something. also it takes a few seconds to start to id say sometimes its only 3 secs sometimes its closer to 6 secs or so. thanks for the help. 97z a4. i also have a tiny oil leak in the back of the intake just couldnt set right i guess dont know if this has anything to do with it. but when its warmed up it will start right up, just got to keep it revin or it will die

Sounds like a suspisious vacuume leak. No SES light or anything?
If youre concerned about the fuel system have you check the fuel pressure throughout the trouble area and time?

The intake itself could not be sealed well to the heads, PCV system ,T/B itself, a dirty IAC or faulty one.
