I must have taken 80 pictures of the engine build, and I don't have one picture of the double roller timing chain set-up. I thought I might be able to see how the timing marks lined up, no help.

The pushrods are the correct length.

I have the blue-striped comp beehive springs though, could this be a problem?
This would be my problem with the setup. Trans-related, I'm not a fan of TCI.

There's four reasons why I'm pushing towards the electrical side of things:

1) I've had two TH-350 trannys from two different builders in the car with two very different TCs. I borrowed my buddies tranny (Abruzzi racing trans) and 10" street TC to see if I wanted to go that way. I had it in for two months while my Rossler full competition TH-350 w/brake was being completed.

I made several runs with that set-up and it went from 106 mph (borrowed combo) to 107 mph (current combo). I have the run log to e-mail if anybody wants to look at it.

It was down on power with the old TH-350 & 10" converter and people kept telling me to wait till I got the new 8" converter because that was really going to wake up the car. The launch was great (pulled front wheels and did not spin at all) but the mph was virtually the same. Very slow pulling in high gear (3 seconds plus on a 11.87 second run - 5500-5900 rpm)

2) Last year's combo was a hot cammed LT4 conversion with an M6 tranny and spec 3+ clutch. Two other guys at the track had the same combo in heavier cars with less suspension mods ( 0.10 to 0.15 slower 60' times) and were running 12.40s (M6) and 12.55 (A4). I was running 13.20s at 103.

3) I am having a problem where Datamaster shows my MAP readings and RPM readings pulsing up and down. I have it record at 10 records/second in Datamaster and the Map and RPM pulse up and down. I asked for others to supply Datamaster logs recorded at 10 recs/sec but nobody sent any over for me to look at to see if this is normal with that many records per second being recorded.

RPM: 5525 - 5725 - 5625 - 5675 - 5875 - 5725 - 5600 - 5875 - 5950 - 5650 - 5775 - 5825 - 5925 - 6050
MAP: 97.1 - 96.3 - 99.3 - 97.8 - 94.5 - 93.7 - 96.3 - 97.8 - 98.2 - 97.8 - 97.4 - 96.0 - 97.8 - 97.8

I can e-mail the datamaster file if you can read it.
records 932 - 945

4) 1 year before I bought the car, someone ran into the car and smashed the right front fender/bumper. The right fender, front bumper, and radiator core support were replaced and the fiberglass hood was put on.

I think that maybe some of the wires in the harness got crimped or maybe broken inside of the insulation causing an intermittant loss of ground or power. I changed the PCM a month ago and that is not the problem.
__________________________________________________ _________________________________________

The only thing the same between the 2 motors and 3 trannys is the wiring harness and lifters. The heads are ported with valve job and new springs, the intake is ported. I swapped the map sensor, coil module and MAF with my buddy, no changes. I bought a new Opti and coil. I then bought a new MSD billet opti, and MSD digital 6. Nothing changed the output.

Everything else is new. That's why I think it's in the harness. It acts the same way with 3 different combos.

it sounds like a valve train problem, your springs new or not are flaking out at higher rpm.
the blue striped ones are the problem springs jmho. good luck
