Kook's Headers. Easy Install?
I have two questions. I have the heads and intake off right now doing a head gasket job. And, of course, the dumb stock manifolds. Now, the question is have I already done the hardest part in a Kook's header installation or is the hard part installing the headers? I would THINK the header would be harder to install, but I was just looking for a concences. The second question is can this be done using jack stands in your garage or would this really need the use of a lift? Obviously, a lift would be easier, but how hard is it with jack stands?
I don't have them yet, but am looking at getting the 1 3/4" to 1 7/8" to 3".

Re: Kook's Headers. Easy Install?
i did mine on my back and i would say the only time u need teh car really high is to get the driver side header in ,u need ot get teh car pretty high but its do-able
Re: Kook's Headers. Easy Install?
CamaroSS30thAnn, one thing I forgot to ask do you have a stock k-member? CANTONRACER has the headers and said he couldn't tell me really how hard it would be on mine because he had a tubular k-member. And I thought the driver side would be the easier of the two, more room on that side. That manifold came out real quick, I had all kinds of problems with the passanger side. CamaroSS30thAnn, didn't have to jack with the motor mounts?

Re: Kook's Headers. Easy Install?
on my car the passenger side was the easeir to go in but the hardest to bolt up
i have a stock K member
teh driver side should be easy to get in but u have to get the car way high in the air b/c u have to put the header in at almost a straight up angle (collector facing teh ground)so u have to get the car up really high
it wasnt reccomended to jack teh motor but i did take teh mounts off and did jack the motor so id idnt run into any problems
edit: ask me anything i hasnt been to long since i did these and its still mostly clear in my head

Re: Kook's Headers. Easy Install?
If ya have the heads off, just slip the headers in the chassis and wire them back enough to get the heads back on. Ya may have to take the steering shaft off and maybe the starter and put it on stand's pretty high. That should be all there is to it.
Re: Kook's Headers. Easy Install?
whoops didnt realize u had teh heads off, hell that makes it twice as easy , thats if u still have them off,
u can slip them dwon prolly from teh top and then make sure they are clear and out teh heads back on and then bolt em down
steering shaft and starter are almost a must to have to come off
