knocking sound

The last few months i have noticed a knocking under my car. It is not the tranny mount thats has been replaced with a poly one. This noise kinda has a similar noise to that though. It doesnt happen all the time either mostly when the road is rough. The car doesnt act differently or anything like that so i could pin point it. Someone suggested something to do with the driveshalf hmmmm a joint that belongs to it. I do feel it under the drivers side i dont know how a passenger feels it since i never sit there . So if anyone can give me any ideas i would be very thankful.

shocks are going or springs, if it was the u-joint, it would only knock on acceleration or decceleration

Re: knocking sound

My vote is for the exhaust hitting the tunnel brace (or something else under there). Try laying on the ground under your muffler and pushing up and pulling down on it and see if the pipes make contact with anything.

I had the same issue after installing my cutout, so I removed the tunnel brace.

Thomas.

Re: knocking sound

thanks the advise about the exhaust cause oddly enough this noise did happen after the raven muffler was put on. I shall check that tomorrow would be nice if it was simple like that ....thanks to all who posted

Re: knocking sound

Grygst76,

I never received the rockers that you sold to me for $85 in July. See this thread Here

You have cashed my money order, and I have nothing in return. I need you to refund my $85.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but grygst76 does not reply to my PM’s.

Re: knocking sound

I never received them. Who did you send them to? Let's check the shipping company's log and see who they were delivered to. It wasn't me. Like I said, you have my $85, and I have nothing in return except for a big headache from this. I wouldn't call you out if I received the rockers.

Here is the last time you wrote anything to me before today

"I've been trying to figure out where those are, I have not been avoiding you, just getting my ducks in a row before emailling you. As we speak they are sitting back at my house returned to me. The address I had my girlfriend send it to was wrong and thank god the people who got the package shot it back out, I am going to resend it MYSELF this time so I know you got it. Sorry about the delay, I know you are in a rush to get your project done."
