knocking at mid rpms
1995 firebird. LT1. Headers,exhaust,K&N FIPK,Spec3 clutch.
So i was somewhat getting on it earlier and my car had seemed sluggish about an hour before this..so i got on it..and when i let off it died. So it started right back up. I pull over to discover a knock at mid rpms. It also seems hard/takes a little longer to start. But at an idle, or high rpms, the knock seems to go away. But it runs sluggish now. Any ideas? Should i tighten the valves? Or could it be a bent rushrod? Or could it be a rod wanting to leave my motor? There is a lot of possibilities i know but does anybody have any ideas??

Earlier i started it..and then it cut off a few seconds later..then started it and turned it off..then went to start it and had to pump the gas to get it to start then ran. Can anybody help me at all? Iv found some used lt1 blocks for 200-500 dollars so if it comes down to it thats what ill do..if its like a spun bearing..which is what it seems to be..but any ideas? Anyone? Im ready to blow it up!!!

If you removed the valve covers and could not pin point the noise it might be something internal and not valve train related. I would try to find exactly where the noise is coming from and go from there. If you just did some work on the car then something might be loose or adjusted incorrectly.
