knock wot

ive started to try and figure out my problem. today i took the spark plugs out and inspected them. they are fairly new plugs anyway maybe 6000miles on them. all of them looked great. just tanned color tips so no carbon build up or anything. the plugs are ngk tr55gp. i looked at the plug wires and they seem all good. at night i see no arcing or anything like that.

i dont get any knock retard until higher rpms mainly when i go wot. up to as much as 9*

what are my other options if not plugs or wires? coil maybe? what about opti? what about even injectors?

Re: knock wot

no one likes helpin me out hehe
i dont know of anyway to figure this problem out unless i start replacing parts but that will be really expensive especially since parts in canada are twice as much as states.
maybe my logs are telling me somethin with datamaster that im not seeing.
i think opti is original could that cause my prob or would opti cause more severe problems. is there a way to test the coil or opti?
thanks for any help anyone can give.

I'll take a look at your data log.... but it takes a bit of time, which I have to sneak in between paying projects .... It can take 15-20 minutes just to set the file up in Excel, sort the columns into the correct order, get rid of the extraneous data, look at max, min and average values through each column, etc. You've got nearly 150,000 pieces of data in that file.

I'll let you know if I find anything.

Re: knock wot

thanks injuneer any help is definatley appreciated. that log is probably about a 20-25 min log so i know there is a lot of data and probably alot is not really going to help but you never know. i can make a shorter run with alot more wot runs where i encounter the problem if it would be easier to go through.
