Knock sensors

Will it hurt to totally disable the knock sensors. Mine are disabled through my program above 2000 rpms from Bryan Herter. Never had any problems. While installing New motor we broke one of the sensor wires. Car idles like crap. Ordered a new sensor plug but will not be here for several days. Can easily disable the sensors with Tunercat. Will it hurt to disable it and drive the car. thanks

Re: Knock sensors

It won't hurt the car as long as it doesn't detonate. If you're confident that the car isn't detonating, then there shouldn't be a problem. I just disabled mine after a long battle with the KS circuit.

Re: Knock sensors

I disabled mine after verifying the timing and air/fuel ratio on the dyno. You should be OK as long as you run premium and don't go WOT unless you are sure you're not running lean and/or have too much timing.
