Knock Sensor problems
Knock Sensor problems
Im running a code 43? i think thats the number, but its definatly the knock sensor code if thats the wrong #. Ive heard from some people its definatly the sensor, and my parents mechanic says its the wiring. But I need to try and find out myself because I need to pay for my car instead of paying to fix it
So I was wondering from past experiences if any of you guys have run into this problem, and was it the sensor or the wiring? I do have a datamaster record of one of my recent runs if that helps any.
Thanks

There is a single wire attached to the KS. Pull it off with the key "on" and check the voltage from the single wire to the block (ground). Should be 5V +/-1V. If you've got the volts, your wiring is OK.
If the wiring is good, with Key OFF, connector off. measure the resistance between the KS terminal and ground. Resistance should be between 93K to 107K ohms for your OBD-II sensor. If it is not, the sensor is faulty or the sensor is not making good contact with the block.
If all that is good, it might be the knock module or faulty pcm.
