knock sensor delete question

just wondering if anybody had done the knock sensor delete where you put the resistor on the wire to the knock sensor and ground it. wondering if it works, i keep springing header leaks and all kinds of other crap and i think it is making the Knock sensor freak out, just wanting to try that to see if the sensor is my problem. also does anybody know if by doing that does it give you the max potential timing (aka no retard at all?) thanks in advance

Re: knock sensor delete question

I did it to my car about a year ago and it works great! You get the full amount of timing the computer will allow with no retard. I haven't had any problems so far. Just a little pinging if I get a bad tank of gas, which has happened twice.

Re: knock sensor delete question

i had false knock problems before i did this mod. I went to radioshack and got a 3.9k ohm resistor, wired it to ground, then drove it around with a reading of 0 degrees of timing retard from 0rpm - redline.

Re: knock sensor delete question

Just bring the thing over to me and I will program out the Knock Sensor so you dont ever have to worry about it again
