knock retard question

knock retard question

I'm hunting down some missing horsepower after I got dissappointing times at the track. I finally got freescan to work. I would be glad to e-mail the logs to anyone who would look at them, and thinks they can help (they can be viewd in excel).

I am seeing 7* of knock retard as soon as I go WOT.

Is this the max knock retard that the PCM will allow?

Freescan reports that I am getting 30-32 degrees advance at WOT. Is the retard already subtracted from this? This seems really low.

I belive that it is false knock (I can't hear any pinging) but I am going to fill up with 110 unleaded (I think I can get some around here) to make sure. If I still get that much know retard with the 110, what is the best way to get rid of it. I would like to keep the knock sensor working, but I will disable it if I have to.

Madwolf tuned the PCM, so I assume the spark tables are not stock.

Sorry I have so many questions. Thanks in advance for any help.

have you tried a LT4 knock module first? I'm ordering mine right now.

When my sensor went bad I believe it was reading 22degrees of pulled timing. I would say 7 is fairly low, and as said above...have your tried a LT4 Knock module yet??

The advance you see already has the knock retard taken out of it. Stock PCM programming can pull as much as 15°. Ion may have limited yours, but only a read of the programming would tell.
