Knock Retard
Knock Retard
What is a resonable knock count (I have Freescan data logging)
for a stock lt1 ? I have made 4 loggings at idle and on the road,
my knock count is constitant on each run but different numbers per run and knock retard on all loggings is 0 . I am trying to determine if this might be the reason the engine is sluggish but
I dont know what Im suspose to be getting.

I've noticed that also. I've never seen the knock count actually change, but on different runs the knock count is different even though I'm getting 0.0 degrees of knock retard. I'm not even sure how the two are related, I've never gotten an answer on this.
At least you arent having my problem. I am getting over 3000 knock counts on autotap and a constant 8 degrees of knock under load and 11 degrees at highrpms but my motor doesnt knock. I have changed module and sensor and yes I have tried high octane fuel but tht doesnt work either. Its so annoying becuas eit feels like I hit rev limiter
Thanks guys,
I was not sure if I had a problem here and needed to go to a LT4
K-module or not , My knock count is in the 3000s but 0 retard.
I have looked on the web to try finding what normal readings would be but cant find any . Thanks again

You are getting 8 degrees of knock retard, not 8 degrees of "knock".... that's why you don't hear any knock... the sensor and retard system is there to prevent knock. I'd be a little wary of your 85mm MAF sensor... if the calibration is off, you might be leaning out at WOT, when there are no long term fuel corrections to compensate.
As far as "knock count", it appears to be a cumulative number that simply continues to build as any knock signal is encountered. Eventually it will reach the numerical limit, and reset to "0". As long as the count stays constant during a logged run, there are no knock counts being added.
