keyless entry problem

Lost old remote awhile back. Bought new one @ dealership, and they couldnt get it working. They did the whole pull the fuse, and junk. The trunk would pop open, and then the doors would lock, but the wouldn't unlock. Put fuse back in and it wouldnt work. Dealership said they had no idea what was wrong with it. Anybody got an idea? on yea, it is oem for a 96 Z28.

just to be sure-both the lock and unlock buttons were depressed during the last part of the programming routine? for 16 seconds? fuse 17 was pulled? you say the hatch popped open as it should have? did you try another remote transmitter?

Try yourself, here's the directions. Maybe the dealership left something out.

Scroll down just a little on that link to get to the 96-97 programming.
Problem might include key fob batteries or maybe something wrong with the BCM (body control module).
